Painful Joints Resulting from Gout can be Cured with the Drug Colchicine and Appropriate Dietary Changes by Chani Prem T
Arthritis is a disease which cripples the active life style of many people. It is painful and when aggravated hinders people from functioning even in day to day activities. Gout is another version of arthritis. Gout results in painful joints which make moving around very difficult. The main cause of gout is accumulation of excessive uric acid in the synovial fluid which surrounds the joints. This may be resulting from either excess production of uric acid or due to inefficient clearance of uric acid from the body. Excessive uric acid in the blood stream can also affect the kidneys. Therefore, it is necessary for people who suffer from this disease to consult their physician immediately and be treated with appropriate medications.
How Does Gout Develops?
Uric acid is created when the body breaks down substances called purine. High uric acid content in the blood is known as hyperuricaemia. Uric acid is normally absorbed into the blood stream and enters the kidneys where it is passed through urine. But when the body is not performing the Uric acid clearance or is producing it excessively it can lead to Gout. Since uric acid takes years to accumulate, there will be no outward symptoms to alert people to the condition. The excess of uric acid which is not flushed out by the kidneys as a result, gets deposited in the tendons of the body. This is the reason many gout sufferers feel pain in the joints. Pain associated with gout will be very common around the heel and the lower body. The pain is mainly due to the developing of uric acid crystals in the synovial fluid sacks which cushion the joints. The most effective test for identifying Gout is therefore to test the synovial fluid for uric acid crystals.
Symptoms of Gout

Even the slightest pressure on the area can be unbearable to a person suffering with this condition. The pain with gout is most often experienced at night and might recede over a few days or weeks but to return as recurrent attacks. Most often the area in question will swell and the skin will have a purplish or reddish look to it. Severe pain and fever is common with gout encounters. When the pain recedes, it is common to see the skin around the joint which is affected begin to peel. With the peeling of the skin, gout sufferers may feel discomfort in the form of
